Department SummaryThe Business Information Technology (BIT) team is dedicated to designing, developing, configuring, enhancing, optimizing, and maintaining innovative products and platforms that enable UCLA's core business functions, including Web Technologies, Budget & Financial Management, Human Resources Information, Customer Relationship Management, and Collaboration, Productivity, & Workplace Products. In partnership with administrative stakeholders, BIT ensures that its solutions deliver exceptional functionality, quality, business value, user experience, and digital accessibility, meeting the diverse needs and expectations of the campus community. The BIT team drives ITS' cloud-first strategy by reducing technical debt, leveraging cutting-edge techniques, partnering with other departments and teams to accelerate releases through advanced automation and application lifecycle management, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to ensure scalable, flexible solutions that meet UCLA's evolving demands.The Human Resources Information Technology Products team is responsible for the design, configuration, monitoring, testing, delivering, optimization, and refinement of human resources information technology products and application technologies. These efforts enhance HR functions throughout the employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, performance management, compensation/classification, payroll, benefits, and other HR functions. This team also focuses on optimizing user experience, addressing digital accessibility needs. Additionally, they collaborate with cross-functional delivery teams to ensure that products meet business and user requirements and work with business stakeholders to iterate on and improve the products over time.Position SummaryThe Application Administrator, Human Resource Information Technology Products will design and build configurable solutions and be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and support of products/applications, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. They will support environment configurations for various applications/products and install, enable and/or upgrade new vendor releases and other software needed to support the application platform(s). This individual will also assist in the resolution of Tier 3 operational support issues, playing a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of UCLA's technology offerings, directly impacting the success and efficiency of the university. If needed, they may also support user and application security setup including account setup and permission sets.The Application Administrator, Human Resource Information Technology Products will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling University stakeholders to effectively leverage data and insights in service of the institution's academic mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.Salary & Compensation*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations.   • Three years experience working in one or more of the following fields: application administration, database administration, data services, or related field. (Required)
  • Five or more years experience working in one or more of the following fields: application administration, database administration, data services. (Preferred)
  • Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms. (Required)
  • Thorough experience with identification and use of code libraries and open-source forums. Thorough experience with common programming tools. (Required)
  • Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. Experience with system integrations and data migration. (Preferred)
  • Skills associated with building solutions using configuration, workflows, software design, modification, implementation and deployment. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans. Ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation for system processes, user guides, and troubleshooting guides. (Required)
  • Knowledge of HRIS platforms like iCIMS, Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM, or similar. Strong knowledge of HR processes, regulations, and compliance requirements. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications. (Required)
  • Demonstrated software repository skills. Demonstrated testing and test planning skills. Skilled in reports and dashboards and extending data to BI tools like Tableau and IBM Cognos for advanced analysis and visualization. (Required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate technical information and ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders. (Required)
  • Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members, stakeholders, and customers. (Required)
  • Strong organizational skills and is able to balance competing priorities and support concurrent projects. Ability to work in a project-based environment using project management practices. (Required)
  • Strong demonstrated problem-solving skills; scopes solutions based on knowledge of available resources and timelines. Able to ask questions, gather information, evaluate options, and make decisions with integrity. (Required)
